Burning
You live a life where you work for what you've got
You live a life where you're expected to be good
You live a life where you break for those you love
And you try to be whole again
You live a life where the words of the ones you love
Sting like knives because the truth is so harsh
You live a life where you're misunderstood
Where your happiness is no good
And pain triumphs all
And you try to be better on your own
But realize you hate to be alone
So you seek what you want
And in the end you wind up burning
No turning back now
Your path is set
It's live a life of successfullness or a life of regret
You need to choose
And stop burning away
Before you become
Only the feathers of your wings
Covered in blood and pain
You work your hardest but you don't think you can win
You try to play the game but don't know how to begin
You fall in love with someone
And lose them in the end
This how you wind up broken
Why do you give your heart with only words spoken
You hate your life so much
You swear you'll never be
Happier with anyone else
Than you were with he
You break and you fall
You run into the sun
And like a vampire you start to set on fire
And you die in the burning flames
Of the pain of yesterdays
You burn and you fall down the crevice you created
You try to crawl
But in the end you are sated
Your left to burn alone
As you slowly become nothing
But the feathers of your wings
But the blood you once shared
But the life of these things
And the reason
For your own despair
Listen up
You are better than this
Why do you try to fly away
You need to stay
And face the mess you created
You need to stop running
And bring back the strong girl you are
You need to depend on your savior
And put yourself first
You need to live a life
Where there is no strife
You need to be better
You need to try harder
To stop pussyfooting around
You need to hold your head high
And stand your ground
Before you burn like a brush on a dry July day
And you become
Nothing but the feathers
Of your wings
You are better than all these things
